Olympic Gold Medalist Trains on SkiMachine

Switzerland’s Tanguy Nef’s Olympic Gold in the Alpine Team Combined event at the Milan-Cortina Olympics was helped by training on in the controlled environment of a SkiMachine.

But before the world watched him deliver the slalom run of his life, Nef used precise, high‑frequency training sessions at Loco Ski Academy in Saillon, Switzerland, where a SkiMachine allowed him to repeat technical movements and refine timing.

That foundation proved helpful in the combined event. After teammate Franjo von Allmen, already the downhill champion at these Games, set the fourth‑fastest opening time, the pressure shifted entirely onto Nef. What followed was a dream run: clean, aggressive, perfectly timed skiing that lifted the pair to Olympic gold. For Nef, who had never stood on a World Cup podium and often lived in the shadow of his accomplished teammates, the moment felt almost unreal.

“Even standing on the podium, I almost felt a bit of imposter syndrome,” he admitted. “Then suddenly I heard my name.”
