Presolana Ski Arena 365 Opens as Italy’s Year-Round Ski Hub
A new era for skiing in Ialy’s Lombardy reguion has begun with the launch of Presolana Ski Arena 365, a pioneering facility that allows athletes, clubs, and families to ski, snowboard and freestyle every month of the year. Developed by Neveplast in partnership with Presolana Ski, the project combines cutting-edge technology with sustainability and community impact, positioning the Orobie mountains as a hub of innovation ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
Located less than an hour from Bergamo and 90 minutes from Milan, the Arena offers easy access for Northern Italy and the wider Alpine arc. Spread across 4,000 m², the complex features a 240‑metre slope surfaced with Neveplast AllRide, designed to replicate the feel of compact snow. Equipped with a permanent timing system, the slope is ideal for training and time trials. Alongside it, a 90‑metre freestyle zone with rails and boxes provides a safe space for jumps and tricks, while an automated video system enables instant performance analysis. A dedicated ski lift ensures high run density, allowing athletes to complete multiple laps in quick succession.
Niccolò Bertocchi, CEO Neveplast commented, “With Presolana Ski Arena 365 we bring to Italy a concentrate of 25 years of international experience in year-round ski slopes. It is much more than a facility: it is a permanent laboratory for athletes, schools and families, a symbol of our territory’s ability to innovate while fully respecting the environment.”
The Arena has capacity for 50 to 80 people depending on activity, and offers ski clubs on-site provision of slalom and giant slalom poles supplied by LISKI. Its ambition is to become Italy’s technical reference centre for pre-season training, equipment testing, and video analysis, while also hosting events, races, and corporate challenges. For beginners, tailored courses and “snow in the city” programmes aim to introduce children and adults to winter sports in a safe, controlled environment.
Environmental sustainability is central to the project. Neveplast AllRide and FreeStyle surfaces are ISCC+ certified, made with 90% non-fossil raw materials, and designed to allow grass to grow beneath, maintaining soil permeability. A new misting system keeps the slopes moist and high-performing without wetting users, while the green colour of the surfaces blends harmoniously with the landscape. At the end of their 15–20 year lifespan, materials can be recycled within a circular economy framework.
Beyond sport, Presolana Ski Arena 365 is expected to boost local tourism, hospitality, and employment, revitalising underused areas and creating new visitor flows. With full accessibility for people with disabilities and applications in sports rehabilitation, the Arena is conceived as an inclusive space where everyone can experience skiing and the mountains year-round. As a permanent showcase for Neveplast technology, it also strengthens Italy’s reputation as a leader in sustainable, innovative sports infrastructure.
Lorenzo Pasinetti, Presolana Ski commented, “We are very proud of this partnership with Neveplast. Presolana is the ‘home mountain’ for thousands of enthusiasts from Lombardy. With the new Presolana Ski Arena 365 we are offering a unique service: allowing children, young people and professionals to train all year round, creating value for the territory and strengthening the bond between sport, tourism and community.”
