Colorado Adventure Park Launches USA’s First Hybrid Tubing Track
Colorado Adventure Park has ushered in a new era of outdoor recreation with the launch of the USA’s first hybrid summer and winter tubing track. The grand opening, held from August 9–11, drew crowds with free admission and showcased cutting-edge Tubtrax technology from German innovators Skitrax World.
The dual 190-metre tracks use snow-free sliding mats and modular sidewalls to deliver high-speed thrills year-round. In winter, the system adapts seamlessly to snow-based operations. “This is a milestone for North American leisure,” said Skitrax CEO Wolfgang Schmidt. “It’s a technical highlight and a family experience.”
Located just 15 minutes from Winter Park and an hour from Denver, the park offers easy access for day-trippers. A conveyor belt ensures effortless ascents, while durable tubing tires promise safety and speed.
Regular operations began August 15, with tubing available Friday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. One hour costs $35.
The park is the first of several planned US sites to adopt hybrid tubing, combining climate flexibility with sustainable business models. Schmidt sees vast potential: “Only 25% of US mountain railways operate in summer. It’s time to rethink with the motto: Dry Ahead.”
