Dry Ski Track at the 2025 Junior Cross-Country Skiing World Championships

During the Junior and U23 Cross-Country Skiing World Championships in Schilpario, Italy, locally-based dry ski slope manufacturer Neveplast was present, crerating a demonstration track set up in the Ski Room Area.

The facility was available to athletes, coaches, and technical staff from all teams, offering them the opportunity to personally test the brand-new Neveplast X-Country material, which featured the revolutionary module for the classic technique track and the latest evolution of the surface for the free technique.

The World Championships in Schilpario provided the perfect stage to showcase how the technology developed by the Bergamo-based company—world-renowned for its year-round ski slopes—enabled athletes to refine their technique with constant repetition, 365 days a year, even in urban environments and without the need for snow.

The Junior World Championship athletes come from all over the world, with 42 nations represented. Among those who tested the Neveplast track was Bolivian skier Paolo Vargas, who expressed his satisfaction at the end of the session:

“I didn’t think a material like Neveplast could exist, one that is so similar to natural snow. I think it’s a fantastic invention. Especially in countries like mine, where snow is scarce, it can be an exceptional tool for training year-round, without being affected by the weather. Learning to ski on Neveplast will definitely give an advantage when transitioning to natural snow.”

Neveplast introduced its Neveplast XCOUNTRY last year resulting from years of research and development. The company says that the contribution of high-level athletes and national instructors has been crucial in perfecting every detail of the product, ensuring an experience as faithful as possible to skiing on natural snow.

“With Neveplast XCOUNTRY, it is possible to create real sports centers, both in the mountains and in the city, as well as temporary facilities for city events. Its use is simple and immediate: skiers can use the same equipment employed on snow, without any risk of wear, thanks to the innovative mat blend, designed for high smoothness and durability,” a company spokesperson explained.
