Swiss Winter Village in Milan

From November 7 to 17, Milan hosted the second edition of the Swiss Winter Village in the Porta Nuova district.

The initiative by Switzerland Tourism was designed to offer a preview of the Swiss winter with skiing, Christmas markets, and snow activities.

The star of the event was a Neveplast ski slope, set up in Piazza Gae Aulenti, where adults and children had the opportunity to ski among the city’s skyscrapers.

Alongside the ski slope, a fun tubing track, also by Neveplast, gave families the thrill of sliding, just like on real snow.

Olmo Balini, Sales Manager at Neveplast, said: “We absolutely love this project because it perfectly embodies Neveplast’s mission: bringing snow to the city and giving everyone the chance to experience skiing in an urban environment, and then enjoy the full experience in the mountains on natural snow.”

The Neveplast slope was dedicated to promoting San Bernardino Swiss Alps, an Alpine destination just two hours from Milan. This area is currently the focus of an ambitious development project that includes new hotels, housing, and sports and wellness infrastructure.

The ski lessons, led by instructors from the historic Swiss Ski School – active since 1932 and renowned for its professionalism and passion – were a great success. Morning sessions were reserved for school groups, while in the afternoons and on weekends, both adults and children had the chance to try skiing for the first time or improve their technique with expert guidance.

The lessons, organized in groups of up to 10 participants, as well as equipment rental, were entirely free and available by reservation, subject to availability.
