Dry Slope Half Pipe Opens in China

A new dry-slope half pipe has opened in China.

The facility, located in Luoyang, Henan Province, has been created by the Snowmonkey company.

Snowmonkey, a China-based manufacture of snow sports products, believe that this is the first dry ski half-pipe in the world.

“There is a shortage of half-pipe training venues around the world because the cost of construction and then maintaining the snow facility is extremely high, and only a small number of athletes can get training opportunities,” a spokesperson for SnowMonkey said.

SnowMonkey have employed a team of former Chinese national half-pipe athletes to design the pipe using the company’s products.

The half-pipe uses an airbag, so that when skiers and riders want to practice new tricks, they can land safely, SnowMonkey claims, allowing them to practice as much as they can, because it can reduce the number and extent of injuries to skiers and protect skiers from injury.

“It is extremely easy to are injured in half pipe training and if the athletes are injured, they risk losing their career. After repeated experiments and tests, we were finally able to establish the first half-pipe training venue to complete various training requirements, allowing more people can have the safe and effective training,” the SnowMonkey spokesperson added.
